An Especially Warm Welcome For a New Special Education Teacher

Updated: Dec 4, 2018

Along with a multitude of new teachers, Dunellen High School is now welcoming Ms. Jenel Bramante into the faculty team for the 2018-2019 school year. She is one of the two new Special Education teachers, alongside with Mr. Sean Murphy. By taking a quick trip down to the second floor, Ms. Bramante and her own class of students can be found going over various topics that will get the adolescents ready for an adult life. She teaches them about life skills, as well as, the core courses - reading, writing, math, history, and science.

Having always known that she would be a teacher when she grew up, Ms. Bramante chose two different majors to pursue during her time at Monmouth University. With an ever-present interest in history, Ms. Bramante chose that as one of her majors. On the other hand, she wanted to help children with disabilities, so she also majored in special education. That way, if the Teacher of Students with Disabilities track didn’t work out quite as she hoped, the option of being a history teacher would always be available. But as it would seem, that was quite unnecessary.

Ms. Bramante has deemed the current special education program as quite fulfilling, claiming that it needs no updates and that it is fine just the way it is. It might be great for the students, but what makes this job fulfilling for her? Well according to Ms. Bramante, it’s “if you can go to work and simply do the job without having to think about it. It’s when you feel happy about inspiring others and encouraging others to do their best as a teacher. You go to work every day and you feel like it's not a job and you just enjoy it so much!” According to this, it would seem as though Ms. Bramante is having a nice start to her school year, and we wish her the best going forward.
